Frigidaire Refrigerator 8-Cube Ice Maker Assembly

Restore a rapid, automated supply of ice to your freezer with this Genuine OEM Ice Maker Assembly. This specialized replacement module (Part # 241798231) produces 8 distinct crescent-shaped ice cubes per cycle. It features a complete electronic control head, a built-in internal mold heater to smoothly release frozen cubes, and an integrated shut-off bail arm that monitors the fill level of your ice bucket.

Manufactured directly by Frigidaire, this factory-certified kit comes complete with the front protective cover, the shut-off bail arm, and a 5-pin female wire harness plug. If your refrigerator is refusing to harvest ice, won’t fill with water, has ice cubes getting stuck on the ejector fingers, or the black chemical coating on the internal mold tray is flaking and peeling off, the entire assembly needs to be replaced to maintain the purity and production of your ice.

Quick Info:

  • Compatibility: Engineered for Frigidaire, Kenmore, Electrolux, Crosley, Tappan, Gibson, Kelvinator, and White-Westinghouse side-by-side and top-freezer refrigerators.

  • Fixes Common Issues: Resolves “no ice” conditions, jammed harvest cycles, flaking/corroded ice molds, overfilling or leaking water trays, and ice makers that won’t stop producing.

  • Included Components: Includes (1) 8-Cube Ice Maker Module, (1) Front Cover Shield, (1) Shut-off Bail Arm, and (1) Attached Wire Harness.

  • Difficulty: Novice to Intermediate. A highly manageable DIY repair typically completed in under 20 minutes using basic hand tools.

Pro Tip: If your old ice maker stopped producing because the internal mold tray filled completely with a massive block of solid ice, do not force the new module over it. Before mounting your new assembly, ensure you completely clear out any frozen blockages in the rear water fill cup or the overhead funnel tube. If the fill tube behind the wall is frozen shut with an ice plug, water will overshoot the new ice maker during the next filling cycle, leaking down into your freezer shelves and creating a huge mess.

Installation & Safety Steps:

  1. Power Isolation: You must completely unplug the refrigerator or turn off the dedicated house circuit breaker before handling the electrical plug.

  2. Remove the Old Module: Slide out the ice bin. Use a quarter-inch nut driver or Phillips screwdriver to loosen the mounting screws holding the ice maker frame to the freezer wall, then lift the module off the screws.

  3. Unplug the Harness: Press down on the locking tab of the wire connector to unplug it from the freezer wall socket.

  4. Mount the New Assembly: Plug the new wire harness into the wall socket until it clicks, hang the assembly onto the mounting screws, verify the rear water fill tube aligns perfectly with the fill cup, and tighten the screws back down.

Are you swapping this today because the internal tray’s coating has started flaking into your ice, or has the mechanical harvest motor stopped spinning altogether?
