GE Refrigerator Evaporator Fan Motor & Wire Harness Assembly

Restore a quiet, balanced climate to your refrigerator with this Genuine OEM Evaporator Fan Motor Assembly. This component (Part # WR60X31522) drives the fan blades behind your freezer’s back panel, pulling freezing air across the cooling coils and distributing it efficiently throughout both the fresh food and freezer sections.

If your refrigerator section is warming up while the freezer remains cold, your evaporator coils are choking with frost, or the freezer is emitting a loud buzzing or squealing sound, the internal bearings inside this motor have worn down. Manufactured by Panasonic for GE, this factory-certified replacement features the complete integrated wire harness and a specialized 4-pin waterproof Molex plug connector to protect against moisture-induced electrical shorts.

Quick Info:

  • Compatibility: Precision-engineered for GE (General Electric), Hotpoint, RCA, Americana, Monogram, and Café refrigerators.

  • Fixes Common Issues: Resolves poor airflow, no-cool or low-cool symptoms in the fresh food compartment, loud mechanical grinding noises, and premature frost build-up.

  • Specifications: 115V, 60Hz motor assembly including ground wire terminal and sealed plug connection.

  • Difficulty: Intermediate. Involves removing the freezer’s interior back wall panel to swap the motor housing.

Pro Tip: When sliding the old fan blade off the old motor shaft and onto this new one, take note of its depth. Pushing the plastic fan blade too far down the shaft can cause it to rub against the back shroud, while leaving it too far forward can make it strike the front panel grille cover. Before screwing the back wall panel back into place, give the fan blade a gentle spin with your finger to ensure it rotates 360° freely without any friction.

Safety First: You must completely unplug the refrigerator or turn off the dedicated house circuit breaker before starting. Working inside the wet evaporator cavity around live wiring requires absolute power isolation to protect yourself and prevent short-circuiting the main electronic control board.

Are you swapping this out because the fan has completely seized up, or are you trying to stop a noisy, vibrating fan inside your freezer?
